This is no longer relevant not because the library name has changed, but
because the changes to the library ABI mean the package no longer has
architecture-specific symbols listed in the .symbols file. Instead,
they've all been replaced with an "optional" marker, which is tacky - if one
of those symbols goes missing later by mistake, dpkg-gensymbols won't
protect against it. But that's not an issue for merging.

Note that the MIRs go beyond hdf5 itself; hdf5 has build-dependencies on
mpich, lam, openmpi and mpi-defaults, all of which are in universe.
Personally I wouldn't think it benefits us to have these in main, and that
the merge is the easier solution.
