Problem with ubuntu 9.10

I copied a live image of ubuntu 9.10 to CD and tried to reboot using the 
CD, but my computer was not able to read the CD past the page that asks 
whether I would like to boot without installing ubuntu, install 
ubuntu....  I think I might warn you about this, but perhaps it is my 
computer, as I currently run fedora(I want to switch to ubuntu).
