Hello Ubuntu developers,

We are now one week from the beta release of 10.10 and have just entered
beta freeze and user interface freeze.

Per the UserInterfaceFreeze guidelines the following things must not
change any more without approval of the release team and notification to
the documentation and translation teams:

* the user interface of individual applications which are installed by
default,
* the appearance of the desktop,
* the distribution specific artwork,
* all user-visible strings in the desktop and applications which are
installed by default

During the BetaFreeze, all uploads to main must be approved by a member
of the release team [1], so if you have fixes which are important to get
in, please do get in touch as soon as possible. Uploads to universe
require a manual push through the queue, but are not subject to release
management approval. Issues which are important for the beta release
will be tracked by the release team here:

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/+bugs?field.milestone=27563

Once the Beta Release is shipped, we roll back to FeatureFreeze and
maintain UserInterfaceFreeze status.

Thanks,
