Look folks, before this becomes another faux-controversy, this
*Canonical* role wasn't created to have someone dictate technical
direction for Ubuntu...we already have a sabdfl ;). It was created to
have someone, not assigned to any particular development team, who can
help us resolve complex technical issues that span across the teams.
Someone who doesn't have tons of features and bugs to churn through,
that can *HELP* developers get past huge hurdles involving complex
technical issues.

I'm sure Allison will introduce herself in due time, however let's give
her some time to settle in. She was at LinuxCon all last week, and is
going through the usual steps one encounters when starting a new
job.
