OK, so his attitude is awful, but the points are mostly valid. So from my
point of view:
1) Use Kubuntu :-)
2) Define "long"? I have done many installs of Ubuntu and Windows, and
installing Ubuntu - any flavor - is much faster than Windows. Could it be
faster? Possibly, but I rather doubt you can put a full-featured OS on the
system much faster.
3 & 4) I agree that's not good.
5) More than for installing Windows? I think not. You can't expect a CD
image to have all the up-to-date fixes.
6 & 7) I've never had the option, as I don't use any proprietary drivers.
8) It's a tough call. Your typical 'nix user wants the options. Your
typical "tired-of-Windows" user needs a simple "click here to install". It
might be a good idea to make anything else "advanced options".
9 & 10) I'd have to agree neither of those should happen, and unfortunately
I still see too many situations where automated tools don't correctly set up
monitors.
