boot message suggestion

I am installing 9.10 Beta on an old Dell Inspiron 2650.  The boot fails with
an underscore cursor on the screen.  The fix is to set acpi=off.
 
There used to be onscreen directions for editing the boot command.  I like
that acpi-off is a popup option.  It took me only a couple tries to realize
"press esc" to accept.  I am trying to convert a friend to Ubuntu, for her
it would have been a problem.  She would stare at the screen not knowing
what to do.
 
Suggesting- add the words "Esc to continue" or something similar to the
screen when the boot options menu is being used.  Better would be to say use
the up and down cursores to highlight and enter to select.
