Hi,
The first sentence of that wiki page begins ""When updating the list of
available packages, or upgrading to a new version of a package, ...".
Please could you clarify whether apt-sync/zsync has anything to do with
Packages/Sources files, or if that mention of 'updating the list of
packages' is erroneous and this applies only to .deb files?
If the mention of Packages is not erroneous, please could you explain
why we would want to use zsync for Packages instead of pdiffs/rred?
pdiffs/rred would seem to be a more optimal solution for package lists,
and it's a tried and tested technology in Debian. It would, of course,
rest on the Soyuz developers to do the bulk of the work here. There's an
open bug for this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/soyuz/+bug/214612.
