of bzr. ( have only read a basic 5-minute tutorial on git )

Difference: Some practical differences regarding file systems and how
they are organized between the two. But as DVCs they're similar close
to identical, right?

What git has is "gitorious" and other more "liberal"/minimalistic
hosts. LP feels a bit *big* sometimes, especially for
experimental/spike projects. But then I just use the +junk feature of
LP.
