Hi Everyone,

As part of my team's work, we are really keen to encourage more people
to get involved in Ubuntu development, and we are really keen to focus
on LoCo teams as a potential source development talent. One particular
effort here is the Ubuntu Global Jam
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGlobalJam) in which we are encouraging
LoCos to get together at physical events to learn new skills and do good
work.

One thing we have realized through our work is that potential developers
thrive when they can get to know and ask questions of existing
developers. From what we can tell though, not many developers are
participating with their LoCo teams. As such, I wanted to ask if some of
you would be interested in participating more in LoCo events, possibly
to help mentor new developers.

There are two great ways in which you can contribute here:

    * Q+A - offering a Q+A about packaging and development at LoCo
meetings or online is a great way to share knowledge.
    * Demos - going along to a LoCo meeting to demonstrate development
topics such as packaging an application, fixing a bug, using bzr
etc is good way to tempt people into learning more.

You can find where your local LoCo team is on
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoTeamList :-)

Does this sound like something that would interest some of you?

     Jono
