Short answer is 'likely yes'.
More complete answer is that -nouveau currently has not had a release,
and with x-updates we're trying to steer away from carrying unofficial
git snapshots. However, in cases where Debian has pulled a git snapshot
(as they do with -nouveau) and it's newer than what's in Ubuntu, we will
incorporate what they carry into x-updates (assuming its dependencies
like mesa, kernel, etc. fit the core system). Currently, Debian has an
older version that what we have in Jaunty already.
Now, some people would like even newer updates and can cope with a
higher level of instability, and the Ubuntu-X team has a PPA for you
too:
https://edge.launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa
This PPA provides periodic git snapshot updates of a variety of X
packages. Currently there is not a -nouveau update for Jaunty there,
but in coming months I would anticipate seeing some.
(Btw, if you or anyone else is interested in seeing more frequent git
snapshots of any of the X drivers, you're encouraged to join the team.
There are scripts and docs that explain our snapshot packaging process.)
