Well, there are some cards that work better with wpa_supplicant if they
are used with the madwifi backend. In general, the wext interface is
recommended by upstream, and should be used by default. Kel was
concerned that NM was patched to prefer madwifi over the wext interface.
However Alexander in the meantime has agreed to remove that patch, and I
have now uploaded a wpasupplicant_0.6.3-2 package to unstable, that I
expect to be synced soon to intrepid with the madwifi backend dropped.
