An official resource for developers to develop on Ubuntu is an
often-requested feature by: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/147/,
http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/11231/,
http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/3188/,
http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/7128/,
http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/7794/, and probably many more but there
are too many pages to go through.

So it doesn't look like the linux way of "google it;rtfm;do it yourself"
isn't appealing to everybody.
