I upgraded my laptop (ThinkPad T61 with Intel graphics and wireless) to
Intrepid this week.

 * I noticed that update-manager's release notes needed to be updated:
   https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/246538

 * sysvinit gave me an inappropriate conffile prompt:
   https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sysvinit/+bug/246550

 * xserver-xorg-video-all was removed, along with some drivers which didn't
support the current server ABI. -all is now installable again, but
a couple of drivers are still uninstallable:

   https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-cyrix/+bug/247515
   https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-imstt/+bug/247516

 * The new 'cups' package and related packages were installed, but 'cupsys'
   and friends remained installed:

   https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/247540

 * gcc-4.3 was installed, but gcc-4.2 also remained installed, and was not
marked for automatic removal, though nothing depends on it. I'm not sure
why this is. g++-4.2 was removed as I would expect.

 * The initramfs tries to load uvesafb by default, but the kernel module
   complains about v86d being missing:

   [ 2.861031] uvesafb: failed to execute /sbin/v86d
[ 2.861031] uvesafb: make sure that the v86d helper is installed and executable
[ 2.861031] uvesafb: Getting VBE info block failed (eax=0x4f00, err=-2)
   [    2.861031] uvesafb: vbe_init() failed with -22
[ 2.861031] uvesafb: probe of uvesafb.0 failed with error -22

   https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/246269

I installed it, but uvesafb seemed to break usplash horribly, so I've
removed it again. I haven't filed a bug about that, but Martin Pitt
mentioned he had issues as well.

 * The -intel driver was broken (but is now fixed):
   https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/246581

 * The system fell back to -vesa, which was also broken:
   https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/246585

Otherwise, things seemed to go fairly well. Suspend/resume still works
under 2.6.26-3.9 with the latest -intel driver. I haven't really tried
wireless yet.
