usplash probe screen resolution

Hi all ubuntu developers

Since we have Xorg 7.3 (hardy), usplash can't detect and set the
appropriate resolution in /etc/usplash.conf using debconf values of
Xorg. Thanks to Colin Watson, usplash can now detects correct resolution
using xrandr when installed inside a Xorg graphical environment (live
the LiveCD).

However, using this technique, the detection is not accurate 100% of the
time and it does not work when installing through the alternate CD.

One major step for usplash would be to automatically probe resolution at
each boot, independently of configuration file /etc/usplash.conf .

For any developers who are interested to work on this and look to see if
this is possible for Intrepid, here is the LP bug report :

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usplash/+bug/188764

Thanks for all your works, ubuntu rocks!
