slocate in the default desktop install

why would a typical desktop user ever need to 'locate' a file that is not in their home folder?

if you can think of any then they are probably targets for improving usability.

for example, if people are using it to track down documentation, then maybe yelp needs improving.

for advanced who know of locate, and try to use it they will be told how to install it. after installing slocate does it do an index straight away?
