Yes, I was thinking of the options available in the UI of "Software Sources"
which currently allows users only to enable the whole backports:

Maybe another option (a checkbox) could be added to the UI e.g. "Unsupported
proprietary drivers updates (jaunty-backports restricted)" or something more
intelligible.
If there's enough interest I can provide a patch for this.
