This is great stuff, thank you.  My only comment is that it seems to have
changed the default for vertical scrolling: this was enabled by default when
I installed, but upon upgrading to these packages, it became disabled.

Was this intentional?  It seems preferable to keep the existing default on
upgrades, and probably on new installs as well.
