Well, this is the default key binding for ANY East-Asian input method
application, be it on Linux or Windows. So, East-Asian users will expect
it to be this way.
But you can adjust the key binding in the scim-setup GUI, if you need.
That said, I don't think that the common Ubuntu novice will use emacs as
their default editor, and those experts who do use emacs, will be able
to find a way around this problem. Maybe we can give them a hint in form
of a README file somewhere in the file system. ;)
