Desktop (amd64)
===============
With the version currently in feisty I got the 'disconnected' state
initially, although eth0 (my 'outside' connection) was ifup'ed at
boot.
With your version, I immediately get the 'connected' state and all is
well. It seems that n-m now takes over eth0:
dhcp 4843 0.0 0.0 14088 1480 ? S 23:52 0:00 /sbin/dhclient -1 -lf /var/lib/dhcp3/dhclient.eth0.leases -pf /var/run/dhclient.eth0.pid -q -e dhc_dbus=31 -d eth0
eth1 is happy as well, it is not disabled any more as earlier versions
of n-m used to do. (This was the reason why I have always purged it
immediately after Ubuntu installation, so I didn't test it very well
in between).
^ that's from dhcdbd, not from ifupdown.
Relevant /e/n/i bits:
------------ snip -------------
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
auto eth1
iface eth1 inet static
address 172.16.0.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
------------ snip -------------
Laptop (iBook G4, ppc)
======================
I have only lo in /e/n/i and removed all the rest, to get full n-m
love. n-m has pretty much done the right thing for me since edgy, for
both eth0 cable hotplugging and my bcm43xx wifi.
With your version I did not see any noticeable change in behaviour,
which is good.
Good job, Scott!
