How long will 64bit Ubuntu users have to wait?

On x86_64 (unlike most other 64-bit platforms with 32-bit ancestry), native
64-bit applications often perform better. I haven't seen any measurements
for desktop usage, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's somewhat faster to
run native.
Of course, whether that bit of performance is worth the tradeoff is left to
the user to decide for now.
