Because, if for no other reason, the core components of Ubuntu are
supposed to be Free software, and if that's to be true of the Firefox
packages then you and I as end users must be able to take them, make
modifications, and distribute the result. 

If I can't do that without getting someone else's permission then it's
not Free.

Besides which; technicalities aside, Moz Corp are behaving incredibly
badly, and we shouldn't take it.
