I think it's "I have an Ubuntu installation CD handy because shipit sent
me one, but I don't like the desktop, so I just want to install a basic
system and build something to my taste from there". (We assume that the
amount of stuff they'll be downloading is comparable in size to the
basic system, otherwise a netboot install would do the job; that said,
netboot is more fiddly to set up.)
