That´s quite incorrect from my experience.
I have set /bin/sh to dash in dapper (which is not official supported i
know)
...and it makes a _real_ difference.

- when it comes to boot sequence
- and in running system my cpu load went doen from normal ~3-4% with
  bash to <1% with dash.
  updatedb runs faster, my backup script is faster.

So personally _I_ see a lot reasons why it is worth.

bash is good for interactive shells, apart from that i prefer dash
