What's the plans for network-manager?

Hello everyone,

currently, if you install from CD, you better not protect your WIFI 
network using WPA or WPA2. Reason is that network-manager is not on the 
install CD (Edgy Knot 2), and you will only get WPA/WPA2 protected 
network access with network-manager. Thus, you've got the 
chicken/egg-problem.

When Dapper was about to release, word was that network-manager would 
become default for desktop installations with Edgy. Even if that cannot 
be done as promised, I'd propose to at least include network-manager on 
the install CD.
