move the ubuntu irc channels to jabber ?

With my statement I meant, that you don't have to install an extra
application to connect to the channels. You can use Gaim / Kopete,
which is already preinstalled on Ubuntu Kubuntu

Yeah, I know that IRC is open. I meant, that in' relation to the other
IM protocols like ICQ, AIM, MSN ...
