xserver-xorg-input-evtouch???

With kernel 2.6.17 we have added support for many touchscreens.  However we don't have any touchscreen drivers for the xorg side of things.  Is there any chance of getting the evtouch xorg input drivers included with edgy?  That would definently make my headache go away ;) .  I've copied some precompiled binary evtouch drivers ('evtouch_drv.o' and 'evtouch.o') into the /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input and i've changed my xorg.conf to use the driver but my Xorg.0.log tells me that "No Imput driver matching evtouch."  Thanks for you consideration.
