Hi,
I remember recently reading about special kernel patch, I thing on this mailing
list (in some upstart discussions?), but as I can't remeber the name, search
funcition doesn't help.
The patch is supposed to hook into FS (ext3) code and log how data is read from
disk during system startup and then reorder the data so it is linear on disk
during next boot. They claim significant increase in boot time (as random disk
reads are a bottleneck probably).
If anyone can write at least the name of the project/patch, please do.
Thanks for any info and sorry for this OT.
Best regards,
Srecko
