I'm afraid that doesn't affect the accuracy of my statement :) There's 
two main problems:

1) Bugs in the 32->64 bit ioctl interface. For an example of this, try 
using a USB printer on a 64 bit kernel with 32 bit userspace.
2) No vm86 mode. usplash won't work, and nor will vbetool.
