I don't want to rehash old arguments that have already been discussed
here (and also, for that matter, don't really belong here), but there
is a significant difference between having trademarked free software
and having trademarked nonfree software. The main issue the Debian
developers had with the logo was its nonfree license, which goes
against Debian's official policies. That's it. End of story. The fact
that it is trademarked matters not.

That said, I don't know that Ubuntu's policy is anywhere near as
stringent as Debian's, so this may really be a non-issue was far as we
are concerned.
