How long will 64bit Ubuntu users have to wait?

I answered this very early in the thread. There is no plan to implement
multiarch in Ubuntu at the present time. Circumstances could potentially
arise which would change that situation, but until then, it is not on the
roadmap.

No, I didn't. What I said then (and just explained a second time via
private email to you) is that the ia32-libs package would not be installed
by default in edgy, and will likely move from main to universe.
