why did Ubuntu turn off kernel preemption in Edgy?

Hi,

A little addition:
- Curently I am using OpenSuse 10.1 / Jacklab for audio production
because Ubuntu does not work for that use case currently. I am
interested in Ubuntu Studio because I am hoping this could change. My
specific hardware configuration is not important in this case because
there is a solution and the question just is that whether it is on
place or not.
- I am currently using Ubuntu Feisty in other stuff than audio recording.
