Hi,
I packed gaim 2.0.0 beta5 with gaim-text support both for edgy eft and 
feisty fawn.
You can get it from http://repository.debuntu.org . I tried to 
incorporate ubuntu patches which where not
included upstream.
I don't really know how to get it to be incorporated into edgy eft. I 
guess there is not enough security bug fixes in
beta 3.1 to make beta5 included into edgy eft, and actually, the changes 
in gaim API, might make some plugins unusable.
