I was wondering if anyone is familiar enough with the vast array of
software available in the Ubuntu repos in general to give me estimates
of the percentages of things using each of the major licenses, or even
better, if there's a way of gathering that information from apt-cache or
Launchpad. That sounds a little befuddled, so to clarify what I'm
looking for is something on the order of:
Total: 20,000 packages
53% under GPLv2
21% LGPL
15% BSDL
..etc.
Again, if it's possible to get exact numbers that would be cool, but
really I just need an estimate.
