Right I just realized that I forgot which stupid code word to use for
version 6.06 and therefore my email has the totally wrong meaning. So
let me rephrase:

After I upgraded to the latest *dapper*, the one that will be released
in a week or so in order to doom the users to years and years of "long
term support", power management has slipped from bad to awful. I
thought that rather than add yet another bug to the multitudinous power
management bugs in Launchpad, I could mention it here and some smart
developer might have an "aha! moment".

But if the list is reserved exclusively for flaming about which Windows
programs to ship in the next release, please carry on.
