UI Freeze or not?

I don't know all the details, but I think the answer is that the icons
were prepared by a professional, but they came late and in a difficult
format so Daniel has had to do a lot of work in order to prepare them
for Ubuntu. However, you're right, hopefully this can all be done a bit
earlier in the release cycle next time: at the moment I have followed
Ubuntu for several release cycles and the artwork has always changed
right at the last minute. Having a UI freeze is supposed to avoid that,
but it hasn't.

And again, you're right about the polish - the new Cancel icon is really
grating on me.
