Changing default live CD boot language

I am trying to remaster live CD to boot in some other language than
English (exactly Polish). I have tried copying pl.tr to en.tr (a hack
proposed on one page), but it is only partial success - menu at the
bottom is translated, but menu options (for example "Start Kubuntu") are
in English. Switching using "F2" also stopped to work.
How should it be done properly?
