If I understand it correctly, all the --rsyncable option does is stop 
and restart the zlib compressor every 32 ( or whatever ) kb.  The change 
to support that is trivial.

The down side is that it makes the full packages larger as it does not 
compress them as well, and it is incompatible with the goal of using 
better compression algorithms like 7zip/lzma.
