Yes, perhaps OT, but I'll bite.  I think the problem is that you can't
do this with GTK+ themes.  Good Metacity themes do change color when
you change your GTK+ theme, but you can't have a color scheme with
GTK+ because each theme selects its own.  I've actually thought about
writing a "color scheme editor" which would just use the user's
~/.gtkrc to override a theme's color.  Kinda hackish (I feel like this
should make its way into GTK+), but maybe it'll work....
