And of course, i meant dpkg-divert, not statoverride ;)

you should be able to see the diversion that affects you with
'dpkg-divert --list', if you manage to track down the root cause for
this, please file a bug. this will hit quite a few users.

And sadly i don't have any clue where i first read this info. But i can
remember that i suffered from the bug and quickly went around it by
purging and apparently didn't file a bug.
