No, really. It is. The kernel on the livecd is the -386 kernel, the
same one you get if you install with the livecd installer (in fact, it
just copies the kernel from the live filesystem) or if you use the text
mode (alternate) installer. You can trust me on this, since I build the
live filesystems.
