ZeroConf in Ubuntu Edgy - To Open or not to open (Ports I mean)

Thanks. It would help.
What I am looking for is the default behaviour:
A) What ports are open after installation ?
B) What are the default configuration of Bonjour ?
C) What ports are turned by GUI ? What are the GUI options ?
D) What optional Bonjour functionalities can be turned on after the
default installation ?
E) How are they handling the security ? On open ports ? On mDNS et al ?
F) Later, I do want to explore what ports can we open (if any) to
enable capabilities like ZeroConf.
<soap-box>
I know that I might be opening a can of worms. But for us to
transcend to the next level, to make Ubuntu synonymous with ease of
usability and being on the edge, we need to explore things we haven't done
before. I have been doing security for a long time and would make sure
whatever we propose is secure. And I am not advocating opening ports with
reckless abandonment.
</soap-box>
