I also work in a Ubuntu derivatived distro (Guadalinex) and I'm totally
in agreement with you.
This should be as the packages:
ubuntu-artwork
ubiquity-ubuntu-artwork
edubuntu-artwork-usplash
...
There is more packages which should be this way, but at least those are
necessary.
