Plans on upgrading automake?

Just install automake1.9 and run sudo update-alternatives --set
automake /usr/bin/automake-1.9.

For edgy there is this spec for replacing 1.4 as default version with
1.9: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+spec/automake-transition
