I'm an average person on this list and I don't want Avahi enabled by
default.  I don't want to deal with the security implications, and
like the average home PC user, I don't have a network that could take
advantage of it anyway.  If people really want Avahi, have the
installer detect a ZeroConf capable home network and then prompt the
user or something.

Just please please please don't have it on by default.  I hope the
"cooler heads" at Canonical ignore this agitation and stick with the
current policy of security and ignore the "but it's cool" crowd that
keeps clamoring for it to be enabled out of the box.
