Hi,

After my last dist-upgrade, it happened that gdm could not start out of
the box anymore.
As root, if I start X using, I just get my prompt back.
Starting Xorg works fine.

In order to get gdm working again, I had to change instance of
/usr/X11R6/bin/X to /usr/X11R6/bin/Xorg .

here is the end of X'strace:

fstat64(3, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=54, ...}) = 0
mmap2(NULL, 54, PROT_READ, MAP_PRIVATE, 3, 0) = 0xb7f1e000
close(3) = 0
open("/usr/lib/locale/en_US.UTF-8/LC_CTYPE", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
open("/usr/lib/locale/en_US.utf8/LC_CTYPE", O_RDONLY) = 3
fstat64(3, {st_mode=S_IFREG|0644, st_size=208464, ...}) = 0
mmap2(NULL, 208464, PROT_READ, MAP_PRIVATE, 3, 0) = 0xb7ccd000
close(3) = 0
close(1) = 0
exit_group(0) = ?
Process 15541 detached

Has anything changed? or is it due to some packages updates?
