Yes, while this is a solution, Ubuntu still needs default.  The debate 
is whether this should be set by default to true or false.  This isn't 
really about you and me, as we can set this in our /home's, just like 
all of our configs are custimized.  This is about the initial user 
experiance, and what the majority of users want. 

The X clipboard is slowly being replaced with the GNOME clipboard.  I 
don't really believe that argument is really currently valid.
