Gnome Screensaver issues?

Yes it would, and I would be happy with that. This would mean that no
slideshow should be included by default, since that would assume
"~/Pictures". 

Until this is fixed I suggest to disable the slideshow (and any other
components that requires configuration to work for the majority of the
people in the world).
