Might I suggest a tad more sensitivity than this.  This person doesn't
know you and may interpret your email as slightly hostile, which I'm
sure wasn't your intent.  The person has asked to help contributing.  We
don't want them turning away immediately.

The GNOME team has been fighting to change this as well.
