This is either a bug in apt or the dependencies of nvidia-glx, take
your pick. It depends on nvidia-kernel-1.0.9629 which both
linux-restricted-modules-2.6.19-7-generic and
linux-restricted-modules-2.6.19-7-386 provide. apt seems to pick the
386 version (which in most cases also installs the 386 kernel) instead
of the generic version which wouldn't need a new kernel. I'll file a
bug tomorrow morning if this isn't already known.
