Hello all. My name is Cory. I'm currently lead on the Ubuntu Studio project.

Recently BenC has created the -lowlatency kernel to address the needs of
people doing multimedia work on Ubuntu. It has been mentioned to me that
the current -lowlatency kernel might not be sufficient.

Now we havnt had the chance yet to properly test this new kernel as we
are waiting for the dailys to become a little more settled and Ardour to
get closer to final. We don't have much time to waste though. BenC
mentioned creating a spec that details out exactly what is needed so he
has a better idea and justification for spending his time on it.

We also have a Ardour dev willing to test this kernel with us. ;)

I have started to draft up a spec but need help on drafting up one
properly. So anyone who has a interest in getting a proper kernel in
Ubuntu for our needs is encouraged to help on the spec
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MultimediaProductionKernel and join us at
#ubuntustudio on Freenode.

The Ubuntu Studio might very well live or die by this kernel because its
the big advantage other distros like 64Studio, Planet CCRMA etc... have
over us.

-Cory
